Greg Doolan

Australia’s
Ultimate Entertainer. From the moment the stage lights up,
Greg Doolan lights up
an audience like no other. He will read the crowd with the skills attained from
25 years at the top of his profession. Possessing one of the most incredible
voices in Australia, Greg’s ability to do vocal impersonations of Pavarotti to
Bob Dylan and everything in between is testimony to the peer praise of this
singer and yet there’s more. Doolan the comedian was the leader and writer for
Australia’s most successful comedy group – Wickety Wak. Doolan also co-wrote
the material for 10 comedy television specials for Channel 7. From Corporate to

capable in this country than our own Greg Doolan. And when an audience leaves a
Doolan performance they know that he has given everything to please the very
people who sing his praises.

Ian Maurice
- one of Australia's most respected presenters
The evening was compered by
Ian Maurice from
4BC Talking Brisbane 1116.
Ian “the Bear”, is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected radio and
television entertainers. His smiling face has been seen on all three commercial
TV networks on a variety of programs but mainly as the happy, jovial presenter
in shows such as The Today Show,Wide World of Sports, Sports Sunday and in the
evening news. Ian is also the host of radio 4BC’s evening program in Brisbane
featuring interviews and talkback, all done with the trademark Ian Maurice
sense of fun and entertainment. And then there is the music … Ian’s musical
commitments ensure he is a busy little “Bear”. In 1998 Ian Maurice was part of
the Nine team which broadcast the high rating and critically acclaimed
Commonwealth Games broadcast from Kuala Lumpur. Olympic Games, international
events and a multitude of national telecasts are all part of the Ian Maurice
story. It began when he landed his first radio job in Cairns, North Queensland,
a long way from his home in Sydney. After several years in country radio Ian
took up a position with Sydney’s 2SM where he quickly established himself as a
newsreader and “offsider” to the legendary Frank Hyde at weekend rugby league
games. Ian was offered a position with the Seven television network and became
the first Monday to Friday sports presenter on Sydney TV. Up to that time the
networks had only used sports presenters at the weekend. Over the next few years
Ian juggled his time between Radio 2UE where he was Sports Director/ announcer
and with various on air roles with the Nine network including commentator and
host at the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. In 1983 Ian, along with Darrell
Eastlake, launched Nine’s State of Origin Rugby League telecasts as well as
calling Test matches and club games. In 1984 Ian continued with football calling
but also introduced the “Sports Updates” into the network’s Wide World of Sports
program.
